Through sound, movement, and storytelling, In Search of Water is a visceral, multidisciplinary exploration of identity, belonging, and the profound intersections of love and purpose. Rooted in Trinity Villanueva’s vision as a multi-racial artist, healer, and Babaylan, the project pulls from Western inspirations such as Boal, Cage, and Turrell, and bridges through a Brown Indigenous woman’s lens reclaiming her lineage and voice.
Guided by the rhythms of the elements—earth, wind, fire, and water—this project embodies Trinity’s ancestral calling, rooted in dreams and the search for connection across oceans and time. It is an act of reconciliation and reclamation, blending themes of decolonization, indigenization, and the sacred power of the womb as the source of life and survival.
Trinity is seeking funding through grants, fellowships, and residencies to bring this transformative project to life. In Search of Water stands as a testament to resilience, love, and the enduring power of women to shape the future.
ISOW is under the SANCTUARIES of Diwa Soul’s fiscally sponsored partnership with Fractured Atlas. A creative healing residency through sensory methods, embodiment, and rewilding.
